The approach that I use is primarily short term focused therapy, drawing on cognitive behaviour therapy, compassion focused therapy (or compassionate mind training), mindfulness, positive psychology, the human givens model and rewind therapy. Dr Natalie Almond - Clinical Psychologist
My name is Natalie and I am a Clinical Psychologist. I am registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC). I offer face-to-face and online therapy for adults. I am passionate about helping people understand the difficulties they are facing and supporting them to make changes to live the life they want to lead.
As a psychologist I am trained to help people understand and manage their emotional well-being. Over the last 10 years I have gained significant experience of working with adults and older adults both in the NHS and privately. This means that I can offer psychological assessment and therapy that is tailored to meet an individual’s needs.
I work with a range of difficulties including (but not limited to) stress, burnout, low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, relationships, grief/ loss, and adjustment to life-events and transitions. I draw on a variety of therapy models including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Mindfulness-based therapies including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), and draw on ideas from systemic and psychodynamic therapy as needed.
My approach is to work with you to build a full understanding of your difficulties. This includes identifying how any difficulties developed and what keeps these difficulties going and what coping skills you already have. Based on this shared understanding we would work on developing the skills and self-knowledge you need to improve (and maintain) your emotional well-being and achieve your goals.
I think the therapy relationship is a very important, therefore, I aim to create a space where you feel safe to share your thoughts and feelings about your difficulties. I know that seeking therapy can bring up lots of different feelings and concerns. Please feel free to contact me to arrange a free 10-15 minute consultation to ask any questions you may have and to see if I am the right psychologist for you.
